When we work together, I like to keep it engaging, fun and flowing. Firstly we will chat and laugh and chat lots more (I do like to chat!) while you tell me about your artistic vision - what it is you desire to capture in your portrait. Who knows you may even want to send me a mood board / Pinterest collection of your inspiration!

 

Next we will meet either on location or in the studio, I'll bring my camera, and we will make the vision reality. Whether you want to capture the essence of your love for your family, inject your sense of humour into the portraits, or bring your personality to life with colour and props - we will explore and develop your ideas into something visually amazing.

 

The result: our combined effort to take your vision and turn it into reality creating stunning works of art you will be proud to show off in your home or beautiful books depicting your story - I know even now I still love to flick through mum's photo albums.

But let me tell you about my trip to Market Drayton - which was one of a few minis and family shoots of late... Normally a mini-shoot won't cause me to travel so far from Chester, but this was a clever family - they booked it on the back of AirBNB photography (yes I do that too and might even get around to showing you one day!) Such a beautiful family even with a slightly snuffly one-year-old who was fabulously behaved! Capturing those everyday life moments and fun in the gorgeous spring sunshine, lush greens and farm cows. I love the invitation to get creative... Each new enquiry & each new client starts my neurons firing and my internal ideator spins up to warp speed! This week one of the occasions this happened was speaking with an amateur boxer who requires some black-and-white headshots, portraits and imagery. This led to re-processing some of my previous colour sports shoots into black-and-white. The results speak for themselves I think and are too good not to share at least one of the shoots - this one was shot in a gym in North Wales, UK. Then I thought, why not create a reel from the photographs in DaVinci Resolve? After all, it gives me an excuse to begin mastering a new bit of software I need for the next phase of an ongoing client project... End of a full day! Just received a text this evening to say the family from my most recent winter woodland shoot are due to receive their canvas delivery tomorrow! Obviously can't reveal the main photograph however enjoy this beautiful walking moment with the pause for the water bottle (obviously in our favourite shade of blue!) as we head back to the car at the end of our walk, after fun playing on fallen trees, and even a hot chocolate in the cafe! Winter sun low in the sky makes for beautiful warm portraits 😍 it also softens skin and gives us a youthful glow! Don't you just love how Emma's first set of portraits came out? Special attention was payed to the location, time of day and direction of the light.
